GE ES44AC

The GE Evolution Series ES44AC, commonly referred to by railfans as the “GEVO,” was a six-axle AC traction locomotive built by General Electric between 2005 and 2015. Power was provided by a 12 cylinder GEVO-12 prime mover, which could produce 4,400 horsepower. The locomotive was quickly adopted by all of the North American Class I railroads and sold exceptionally well, such that it has become one of the most common locomotives seen on the rails today.

Great care has been taken to capture road specific details like number board and headlight placement.

The locomotive is designed to be motorized with a Powered Up Hub and two Large motors. This requires a custom program via the Powered Up app or pybricks. We have also made provisions to run a single Large motor using the Crocodile locomotive control profile included with the Powered Up App by default. For more advanced users, the model has been engineered with space for the installation of a Blunami 4408 control board and 28mm speaker for onboard sound.

This model requires a set of 8 flanged and 4 blind #6 (MS) wheels which must be purchased separately.
